Fishing
Surrounded by some of the best fishing and diving waters in the world, stretching from Karikari Peninsular on the east coast, north to the Three Kings Islands and south to Ahipara on the west coast, we are an obvious choice for the keen fishermen. Land fish from the rocks, beach or wharves. Go out on your own or a charter boat for sports or big game fish, then bring your catch home for smoking, freezing or dinner! Plenty of parking for your boats. Good spots for scuba divers also.

Relaxing Activities
Visit two unique subtropical nurseries at Lake Ngatu or Kaitaia and marvel at the knowledge of their owners as they show you around and be amazed at the variety of plants they can grow in this truly subtropical grower’s paradise. Trips to local gardens can be arranged through the garden club.
Fascinating history is to be discovered at the Gumdiggers Park, Wagener Museum, Subritzky Homestead and Awanui Ancient Kauri Kingdom. Plus you can visit an Ostrich and Emu farm, avocado or macadamia orchard, or there is the forest and bird property Arathusa nearby.
